Make up
In 2006, a group of music-interested entrepreneurs joined forces and formed a label – Same Blood Entertainment – to take their music to a professional level and make their voices heard internationally. The name - Same Blood - fell into place as the group is made up by first- and second-generation Swedish immigrants of Creole, Latino, African, Assyrian, Brazilian and Serbian heritage.
"It came to us naturally," says Managing Director Afram Gergeo, who was born in Lebanon. "We are all different, yet the same."
Same Blood - a posse of first- and second generation immigrants thrust into the welfare state of Sweden, brings the American term "melting pot" into a new dimension. A starburst of cultures, languages, histories, religions and influences, their differences are fused into a common denominator – alienation in a nation where multiculturalism is still in its dawn… J-Son’s album "Never Half Stepping" is a telltale of modern Sweden and mirrors his mother’s journey from the rough life in a Brazilian favela to the neat and orderly streets of Sweden. In elementary school, J-Son represented one of 15 nationalities in a class of 30 students. Same Blood focuses on the advantages of being different, yet the same...
Expect high-class music and intriguing storytelling.
Quality Counts
Aside from producing and delivering top-notch, everything Same Blood is quality. The goal is to reach the top in a solid way in all aspects of the business. Same Blood began its operations in Gothenburg, but quickly grabbed a market share on the Swedish independent hiphop scene and moved to Stockholm. There they turned a rats-nest of a basement located way out in the gritty "urbs", into a state of the art studio/office/social club. Once established and with the release of J’Son’s album, they have expanded with an upscale downtown Stockholm office. Still, the studio remains the heart and soul of the Same Blood operations.
