J-Son - Goes House

J-Son just got done shooting a video for the house track “Where You Wanna Go” with the Dutch artist Mischa Daniels in Stockholm.

“It’s an urban house track, I wrote it and I’m singing it,” J-Son says. “It’s flattering that they picked it as the number one release from the album.”
“Where You Wanna Go” was selected as the first single on Mischa Daniels debut album and is scheduled for release in the Netherlands and the U.S. simultaneously in July.

J-Son and Sandro Monte wrote and produced the track Simple Man, a soft hiphop tune. Sandro sent it to Mischa Daniels in Amsterdam, who dug it and re-produced it into a house format. Was there more stuff like it? J-Son and Sandro then wrote “Where You Wanna Go” and again shipped their craft to Amsterdam.

Mischa Daniels liked it so much that he asked J-Son to do the singing and bought the release rights. When it came time to shoot the video, which takes place in hotel rooms worldwide, it was natural to have J-Son feature in it, so they began shooting at Nordic Light Hotel in Stockholm. Every time J-Son opens a door, it leads to another hotel room in places like, Amsterdam, Istanbul, Tokyo, Cannes and London.

“As a musician I am real excited to expand into different genres and show my fans a new side of my artistry,” says J-Son, who started his career rapping and has gradually moved into the urban pop, along with focusing hard on song writing. “I’m also really curious to see people’s reactions. What will they think when they hear me do a house tune?”

J-Son has followed the Dutch artist and producer and his creative process closely.

“It’s been real interesting to see how they produce house music,” he says. “They send bits and pieces back and forth, back and forth, and keep on building on it. And they are very particular about the sound and the production techniques. Focus is on catching that feeling.”

Ultra Records will do the U.S. release, and is the label of Pitbull with whom J-Son worked on the mixtape “Shittin On The Industry.” Release in the rest of Europe and Asia will follow.
